The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) is developing a new combined cycle power and desalination plant in Ras Al Zour in the eastern province, in Saudi Arabia. The power plant will have a design capacity of 2,400 megawatts (MW) but will be able to generate 2,750 MW of electricity. The desalination plant will produce up to 1.025 million liters of water each day, making it the world's largest desalinization plant when it is completed in 2014. The purpose of the project is to meet the national power demand and supply power to Maaden's aluminium complex. DCPRO’s scope of our work is the mechanical design of the 10,000 tons chiller plant, and the full HVAC design of 19 non-plant building with 42,000 m2 built up area, 16 plant buildings and the Ventilation Design for 5 Steam turbine buildings combined cycle, 5 Gas Turbine buildings with combined cycle and for 1 Gas turbine hall single cycle.
